Breve Resumen

Decision making processes are sustained by a set of analysis tasks that planners focus on in order to solve a problem. Planners with different backgrounds gather around a topic and use a set of software tools, with the help of domain experts, to model their problems and make decisions. In current workflows for urban planning, GIS is the common way for solving and presenting data, but in order to use this technology, the help of a GIS expert is a must due to the complexity of the system. In this paper we propose a framework and workflow for the design and development of fast-prototypes centered on analysis tasks rather than a wide specific topic. With the fast creation of specialized tools centered on analysis tasks, planners with different backgrounds are able to discuss a topic using their own analysis tools yet presenting relevant data in a unified graphical interface. A multi-layer representation of an urban space and an analysis task model are the key components of the framework. For visualization, city components and their visualization are separated allowing the application designer to create customized scenarios for analysis focused on the task. .
