The Centro de Investigación de la Facultad de Ingeniería (CIFI) performs basic and applied research as well as consulting and technology development work in various fields of engineering.

Since 1980, As part of work-linked to DISC. CIFI has been linked to the development of projects in the area of information technology. These projects have covered a wide range of scopes and fields such as:

•    Computer diagnosis.
•    Strategic design plans on computing
•    Enterprise and IT Architectures.
•    IT technology and process consulting.
•    Development of alternative solutions to IT and its implementation.
•    Measures and quality assurance on IT, among others.
