What is ABET?
ABET is a recognized international non-profit organization that accredits college and university programs in Natural and Applied Science, Computer Science, Engineering, and Technology.
This ISO 9001-certified organization is comprised of 35 societies, and professional and technical organizations, that represent the above-mentioned areas. It is also one of the most respected accrediting organizations in the United States with more than 80 years of experience in the leadership of quality assurance in higher education.

What is the accreditation for?
1 Being ABET accredited means quality in the curriculum, in the professors, in the students, in the academic processes, it demonstrates the University's commitment to offer its students a quality education.
2 This accreditation places the undergraduate engineering programs of the Universidad de Los Andes on par with any engineering program of a first world higher education institution.
